The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) of Colombia, following the investigations made by other Personal Data Protection Agencies that involve the British company “CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA”, decided to order the blocking of the application “Pig.gi”, due to an alleged alliance between the creators of said application with the British company.
According to the SIC decision, “Pig.gi” is part of a Mexican company called FARROW MÉXICO, in association with the Colombian company “FARROW COLOMBIA”, both companies with alleged links with CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA.
The blocking of the application is done as a precautionary preventive measure, due to the potential risk that could implied the handling of personal data of one million Colombians and Mexicans by this company.
