Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio

Mr. José Luis Salazar, Director of New Creations of the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) of Colombia, participated in the “28° Session of the Standing Committee on the Law of Patents (SCP) of the WIPO” that took place in Geneva, Switzerland, on July 2018.

His participation in the aforementioned meeting was of great importance since the SIC is a member of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and it is called to participate in the different Committees and Meetings of the organization, including the SCP.

In this opportunity, he was able to share the Colombian experience regarding trends in the protection of patent law, especially issues related to opposition procedures, revocation mechanisms and international cooperation.

Also, he was invited to share our training programs for patent examiners, the Colombian confidentiality policies applications between clients and patent advisors and other provisions of the Colombian patent legislation related to technology transfers.
