Pereira - Colombia

THE VENUE

Pereira is the Capital of the Department of Risaralda, located in the coffee grower’s area of the Country at 1400 meters over the sea level. Pereira has a population of over 465.000 people, making this city one of the most populated cities in the coffee growers region. This city has a medium kind of weather with an average temperature of 22 °C degrees.

The event will take place at the Sonesta Hotel, located in the Km 7 on the way to Cerritos.

Thursday March 5 – Registration since 8:00 am. 

Language

In Colombia the official language is Spanish, however most of the people from the hotel and most of the people attending the Conference, as well as people from restaurants and other places, are bilingual (they speak English as well as Spanish).

Weather – Dress Code

• Average weather in Pereira in March goes from 17°C a 26°C.
• During the event: Business Casual (no jacket and no tie)

Transportation

The attendees may arrive from all the continents to AEROPUERTO INTERNACIONAL MATECAÑA, located in Pereira on the 4^th kilometer on the way to Cerritos. When arriving to the airport, they may access a taxi outside the airport or they may access one of the buses offered by some airlines and by some hotels.

Security

Pereira has a standard security level. It is recommended to use the safety deposits located in the hotel rooms for storing documents and value accessories, also it is recommended to use the information and the help provided by the hotel when asking for transportation, tourist guides and safety recommendation inside the city.

In the market, you can find current adaptors and energy regulators. However, it is advisable to check technical indications of appliances before using it in Colombia. 

Electronic connections or plug inns used in Colombia are from the American type, this means that they have two flat pins (plug in type A) or with a third round pin (plug in type B). In the market, it is possible to find these types of plug in convertors for European type of connectors (plug in type C o Europlug), however, for other type of connections it is recommendable to attend an electronic specialized store.
