Colombia and Ecuador signed a cooperation agreement with the objective of establishing the basis for generating spaces for institutional cooperation and information exchange in relation to the experiences of each of the parties in the exercise of their functions in the area of competition protection.

As part of its objective to promote free competition, the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce signed a cooperation agreement with its counterpart in Ecuador, the Superintendencia de Control del Poder de Mercado.

The document was signed during a virtual meeting in which the Superintendent of Industry and Commerce, Andrés Barreto González and the Superintendent of Market Power Control, Danilo Sylva, participated. The objective of the agreement is to establish the basis for generating spaces for institutional cooperation and information exchange in relation to the experiences of each of the parties in the exercise of their functions in the area of competition protection.

The memorandum also defines that the entities will coordinate and join efforts in order to generate spaces for virtual or face to face training of the technical teams of both institutions, technical visits as far as possible for the support and/or follow-up of the products within the scope of the attributions of each of the entities, among others.

The agreement signed between the authorities of Colombia and Ecuador will be valid for two years.
