On March 29, the Interamerican Competition Alliance held a building – capacity virtual workshop on “Collaborative Economy” (also known as “sharing economy”). The distinguished panel of experts was comprised of:

  1. Ellen Connelly, Federal Trade Commission – United States
  2. Marcos Morelos, Autoridad de Protección al Consumidor y Defensa de la Competencia
  3. Carolina Garayzar Comisión Federal de la Competencia – México

Members of the Economic Studies, Restrictive Practices and Advocacy Working Groups of the SIC participated in this workshop, virtually. Some of the main topics discussed were disruptive innovation, new challenges in transportation services, issues facing platforms, and participants & regulators in sharing economies.
