On March 8, 2017, Daniel Sabogal, member of the Bid Rigging Working Group, participated as a speaker in the webinar "Challenges related to evidence gathering after dawn raids".

This webinar was organized by the International Competition Network (ICN) and was joined by speakers from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), the French Competition Authority (Autorité de la Concurrence) and the Mexican Competition Authority (COFECE). The lectures provided addressed the difficulties and the challenges that competition authorities face when obtaining evidence while carrying out dawn raids, especially in those legal regimes in which criminal aspects are involved.

Mr. Sabogal, in his presentation, mentioned the importance of dawn raids in bid rigging cases and highlighted the importance of other mechanisms for obtaining information, such as information requests and interviews. One of the key topics discussed by the participants was the importance to follow procedural rules while conducting administrative inspections.

This was the first participation of the SIC as virtual speaker in an ICN webinar in 2017.
