The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce is an entity of national nature attached to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and has among its functions to accredit and supervise the testing companies of conformities – OEC acronym in Spanish (entities of certifications, inspection, testing and calibration laboratories) that forms part of the National Standardization, Certification and Metrology System in accordance with the powers granted in numeral 16 of Article 2° and 5° of Article 17 of Decree 2153 of 1992 and Article 17 literal a) of Decree 2269 of 1993.
Accreditation activity in Superintendence of Industry and Commerce is performed by Consumers Protection Office through their Technical Standards Division in accordance with functions established in Resolution 3483 of 2003.
The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce to develop this function have plenty technical and human resources in order to assure the use and integration in the System of the complete national infrastructure in the quality field. |
